Mosta is one of the largest towns in Malta, right in the centre of the island. Its landmark is the Rotunda, the parish church of the Assumption, whose dome is one of the largest in Europe. In 1942, during the Second World War, a bomb pierced the dome during a service and did not explode; a replica is on display in the church. Every 15 August the town celebrates its feast with fireworks and processions.
Studying English in Mosta means living in an authentic Maltese town, away from the busiest tourist areas, with regular public buses to Valletta, Sliema and St Julian's. Nearby you can walk along the Victoria Lines, the old fortifications that cross the island, and visit the Ta' Bistra catacombs. Malta has a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, and English is one of its two official languages.
